California Dreaming by Mamas and the Papas is a wicked song. It was played a lot during Chungking Express.
Man I am missing a lot of my random oldies songs. I am now on a mission to restart my oldies collection.
Also if you are on facebook please join Find it Off Campus. We are trying to get the name out so hopefully by getting people seeing the site name on facebook will drive some traffic. This applies to people outside waterloo as well. The more the better!
When we turn a profit on this site I will treat everyone to dinner! So go off, spread the word of Find it Off Campus!

Today I got to work from home which was awesome. I got a lot done before lunch, but after lunch I slowed down a lot. The task I have to do right now is suppose to be easy, but it involves reading a lot of assembly which is damn hard to read. Its not like normal english, everything are like 1-4 letter acronyms for instructions. So sometimes I have no idea what these acronyms stand for, like MVC like moves data from one area to another, or ICM is insert character mask. Mind you even after learning what these instructions mean I still need t oread a paragraph about the instruction to figure out exactly wtf it does. I will most likely be working on sunday to try and finish this supposedly easy task.
After work I faced Adrian in SFII Turbo and was thoroughly rocked. I am so horribly bad at street fighter it is quite sad. Anyways Adrian beat me like 10-4. Towards the end of these matches Jon showed up and we talked for a bit. After dropping my laptop AND guitar on top of my laptop I told him he wasn’t allowed to touch anything.
We sat around at my house for a bit trying to figure out what to eat but I eventually convinced adrian (he caved) to get sushi. So the three of us got sushi at Akina’s. I was so full, god I love grilled eel. Adrian had to help me out at the very end, I couldn’t finish 1 last piece of spicy salmon.
After dinner we went back to my house for a bit and Adrian once again destroyed me at SFII for a bit and then we both drove to Ryan’s. That’s right I once again drove!
Kings, Jimmy, and Bonnie showed up as well and we all sat around in Ryan’s room and talked about junk. Kings and bonnie left pretty early and we decided to play some SF II and naruto. I rocked everyone in Naruto, that is expected of course. Even though I like Naruto I will still hold out and just get SF IV. No matter how terrible I am at street fighter, SF IV looks too damn good not to get.
Simon called and said he would come by for a movie so we continued to play a few rounds of Naruto till he showed up. Once he got to Ryan’s we started a movie called “Eagle Eye”, but simon couldn’t handle the poor quality so we switched to the hulk. We made a few bets during the movie but the important thing is I now owe Simon 0 kinder eggs!
As for the title of this post, I have been listening to Morning Musume a lot recently. They are like a japanese Pussycat Dolls kind of group, except every member isn’t as pretty as a pussycat dolls member. Anyways I have a few songs by them but I have recently been listening to Love Machine which is awesome. I should warn you the video is QUITE sad and hilarious.

I always love going to amazon and chapters. I really need to do two things with my books. First buy some nice bookcases and organize them properly. Second, finish buying books for various series I loved. There are so many children’s books I need to buy.
I still need to finish Good Omens. The book is suppose to be funny, but its really just strange and somewhat boring.
Its a shame how there are so many great children’s books that I never read as a child. Now, at the age of 21, I am slowly going back in time and reading the classics I should have been reading growing up. If I ever finish Good Omens I know the next book I will buy.
Also Tales of the Beedle Bard come out Dec 4th. I think I am going to buy it and get it express shipped to me. Does anyone want to buy anything from amazon?

I had my yearly physical today and it went by fine. I worked from home today so that I could get some work done. Anyways I woke up at 8:15, started coding at around 8:30. I spent the whole day trying to fix a bug I created yesterday. It wasn’t anything major but still damn hard to figure out. By 2:30 I hadn’t figured out what was wrong, and my appointment was at 3:20 so I thought I will just fix it when I get home. So I left my house at 2:30 and got to the doctors office at 3:00.
Since I had some time to kill I got a pizza slice and then went up to check in. The receptionist said he was pretty backed up so I went back downstairs and wandered around Price chopper, shoppers, and chartwell for a bit before just heading back upstairs.
I sat in the waiting room for about an hour reading random magazines before I actually saw the doctor.
The physical went by okay. I weigh 105 pounds and he didn’t check my height so I don’t know how tall I am. The last time I went for a physical was two years ago so not sure if my weight went up or down, he said it was fine so I didn’t really care. I imagine the blood work is what will piss him off. I have had slightly high cholesterol for 3 years now I guess. I doubt it will change much this year, I hope it didn’t go up.
Anyways, I left the doctors place at 4:40ish, took the bus to Woodside to place a perscription for some special scream for my eczema. I then proceeded to take the bus back home and got in at around 6. I am not running some test cases for my programs to make sure I didn’t break anything and will probably call it a day very soon.
In other news I got Harry Potter 5 hard cover. I need to buy 3 more books in hardcover to finish my collection. It would be 2 if someone would just return my harry potter 1! What kind of crazy person steals a book, if only I were more diligent with keeping track of who had my stuff. I now have delicious library so I am a little better, for example cheryl has my, “A time travelers wife”, Jo has a complicated kindess, and raymond has glass castle. Also note that all 3 books were great.
Also should I get electric drums? Like real electric drums? Acoustic drums would be nice but my parents would go crazy if I actually had those in the house. Electric drums may not be too bad because I could plug them into my iMac and do stuff, like this. Actually I can’t do that, he seems to use some kind of midi sampler or something funky. Anyways its still a cool video. The problem with an electric drum kit is I wouldn’t have a cowbell so people wouldn’t be able to say “We need more cowbell”.

Find it Off Campus has hit 100+ postings. We launched the site Friday night, emailed a whole list of people from Waterloo Off Campus housing and in less than a few days already hit 100 postings. I am quite impressed with these results. We still have a lot to do for the site but its great to see people are interested and actively using it.
After looking at the OCH website it seems they have about 350 – 400 sublets posted, so I think our site will most likely level out very soon because I doubt everyone on OCH will post on our site. If I were to make a guess I would say we can hit close to 200 and that will be about it.
Hopefully when we figure out a way to inform landlords of our site we will see the number of postings jump again. Currently we only emailed students so we are only hitting a small chunk of the market.
So now for a few numbers from Google Analytics:
- We have about 407 unique visitors
- 4800 page views (probably closer to 4500 when you subtract out the times Paul and I have visited the site)
- On average people spend about 10 minutes on the site (no idea if that is something to be impressed with)
- 37 page hits from people seeing our site on facebook (it would be great if this number was a little higher)
Expect random posts on and off about the health of the site. Also does anyone thing I should remove the bubbles that appear over the markers? Or put different information in there?
